Documents, objects and testimonies slowly reveal a story that doesn’t quite add up. The case then moves onto the water. Board Shearwater our boat and follow the evidence trail down the harbour and out to Lowestoft’s ship graveyard. As you pass silent wrecks and retrace the final journey connected to the case, new details emerge — challenging your assumptions and sharpening your theories. The experience concludes at the ***Fisherman’s Wharf Pub***, where you’ll review the evidence, debate suspects, and decide what really happened. Food and drink are available as you deliver your final verdict. This is an immersive, story-led murder mystery experience — set across real ships, real locations, and real history. Our harbour tours don't go to sea so the most you should experience is a very gentle rocking. We've never had anyone sick on our harbour tours! Do we need prior experience with murder mysteries or puzzles? No prior experience is needed. The experience is fully guided, and clues are designed to be interactive and accessible for all skill levels. Is this suitable for children? Yes, older children and teenagers can enjoy the experience with supervision. Some puzzles may require adult assistance, but the adventure is designed to be family-friendly and engaging for all ages. How do I book? Booking is easy through our online reservation system. Simply select your preferred date and indicate your group size. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended to secure your adventure. Can we book private or corporate events? Absolutely. Private bookings are available for friends, family groups, or corporate team-building events. Custom experiences can be arranged to suit group size and special requests. Can we pre-book food and drinks? What resturant / pub will the experience conclude at? Not currently, however, it is in the works, so watch this space! Depending on your trip time, the concluding venue is determined. Our current preferred end partner for midday trips is the Fisherman's Wharf Pub on the South Pier. Our future evening and breakfast trips’ availability concluding venue partner is awaiting confirmation, so watch this space! What if it rains or the weather is poor? The experience starts on the sheltered Mincarlo. The boat trip stage, however, takes place on an open vessel, so guests may encounter wind or light spray and are advised to dress accordingly. The trip will run in most weather conditions, and we recommend comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. In the event of extreme conditions, alternative arrangements will be provided and communicated in advance. Are the puzzles difficult? The puzzles are designed to be challenging but fun, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving. Both experienced detectives and first-time players can enjoy the interactive murder mystery adventure. What happens on the boat trip? Guests will board the Mincarlo to begin the investigation, then sail aboard the Shearwater to explore historic wrecks in Lake Lothing. Throughout the trip, you will find clues, solve puzzles, and interact with the story to uncover Captain Stanley Johnson’s mysterious death. Who can take part in the experience? This interactive murder mystery is suitable for solo adventurers, friends, families, and corporate groups. The experience is designed to be engaging and accessible for all ages, though younger children may need assistance with puzzles. How long does the experience last? The full murder mystery adventure is a 2-3 hour experience. This includes exploring Mincarlo, sailing on the Shearwater to the Lake Lothing ship graveyard, and concluding with the grand reveal at a local seafront restaurant. Do you offer help for those with reduced mobility? Absolutely, if you have any worries or concerns please call us and we can talk things through with you. Our friendly and knowledgable crew members will be able to assist you onto the boat with a number of safe methods of boarding. We generally require people to be able kneel down and/or sit down so we can aid you into the boat. If in doubt, just ask us! Do you offer discounts for NHS / emergency services / armed forces? Yes! Do you cater for this? Absolutely, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss it with you. Any group booking/charter will be accompanied by our friendly and knowledgeable crew. In the case of diving trips, your own dive master is required. I suffer from a medical condition, can I still join you? Absolutely! Our harbour tours are very gentle and slow. If you think there's anything we need to be aware of please let us know. We can't get wheelchairs onboard but have successfully carried many wheelchair users. Please note for this experience only there are steps on Mincarlo. If you want to attend but can't do steps let us know and we'll do our best to accomodate you. How do I get to you/where do I meet you? We will happily store bags/other possessions in our trailer for the trip duration, free of charge, however, we can accept no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged property. Can I smoke on the boat? Smoking (including vapes/e-cigarettes’) is not permitted anywhere on our boat, due to fire safety and for other passengers comfort. I’ve had a drink, am I still ok to board? We cannot accept any passengers under the influence of drink or drugs. Is there a minimum/maximum age? Not on our inshore trips. Can my dog come onboard? Yes! We do charge £5 to cover the hire of a dog bouyancy aid. We will restrict numbers of dogs on board to maintain comfort and space for all passengers. We can recommend East Point Paws who will look after your dog during your holiday if there are activities that you want to do. They would need to meet you and your dog before the day! Can I bring my baby? We can carry children under four on our non sea going trips (harbour tour etc). I am pregnant, can I come on a trip with you? Yes, you may travel with us if pregnant but only on our non-seagoing trips (which this one is). Can I borrow waterproofs from you? Yes, of course. They aren’t fashion items but practical! however, you are unlikely to need them on our inland trips. Can I take photos/videos? Absolutely, we’ll encourage you to take as many photos and videos as your heart desires and we will ensure you get ample photo opportunities! We'd love to see your pictures and videos too. Unfortunately, we do not have any toilet facilities for customers to use and advise you to find alternative facilities before boarding. East Point Pavillion has the closest public toilets that you pass on your way to us. We do conclude this exprience in the Fisherman's Wharf pub who do of course have toilets. Do you provide lifejackets? Do I have to wear them? We provide lifejackets as part of your booking fee and it is a safety requirement that you wear them (including special sizes for children). Within the confines of the Port of Lowestoft, we are limited by speed limits to 4 Knots (Approx 4.6 MPH) and even slower when we are near marine wildlife or other boat users. It's a good idea to have a change of clothes too just in case you do get wet! The experience includes climbing up and down near-vertical ship’s ladders. The ship also features raised doorway thresholds, narrow corridors, uneven flooring and other typical trip hazards of a working vessel. This may not be suitable for all guests.
